Business analyst support for a change management project in the area of IT finance controlling
|
Sector: |
The task facing our employee in this consulting project was to coordinate an already launched global change management project for the European IT Finance Control Office. The objective was to steer IT projects in the proprietary (oracle-based) IT project recording system towards a uniform data acquisition mode worldwide. Specifically, IT program and project managers and their subordinate team members were to receive new, globally valid input specifications in order to simplify project resource and cost control in the area of IT finance controlling. To this end, an initial gap analysis was necessary in order to analyze and establish status and differences in the use of the system, in particular between the US and the EU parts of the company, before the new - ITIL conformant - use structure was defined and set down. Additional support work as part of audits/internal audits or the reworking and new documentation of office work processes also had to be provided alongside the standard project coordination tasks (close collaboration with the system developers, meetings, audios, preparation for and holding of information events, management reporting). |
IT project coordination for the LMS system implementation at a large automotive manufacturer
|
Sector: |
The dealer training department of one of our large customers required a project worker with coordination skills and previous familiarity with comparable tasks and the type of system in question for the implementation of a new learning management system (LMS) for global application. The project coordinator’s central task was to ensure that the LMS system department (of the English LMS program supplier) received binding specifications for the system configuration and the customization. This work had to take into account the structurally differing training requirements, some of them legislative and some of them historical, between the three countries - Germany, Switzerland and Austria - represented by our customer, and to harmonize them with those of many additional European company subsidiaries. This required an intensive analysis of the individual training processes and the diverse IT systems which had to be replaced by the LMS or linked to it via interfaces. The task, which extended over a good 18 months, required frequent participation in management report meetings in the European headquarters or project team meetings with the heads of project in the other participating European countries. |
